Too often, my clients have beneficiaries who are unable to care for themselves.  These beneficiaries may already be receiving needs-based public benefits, such as Medi-Cal or SSI.  Getting an inheritance from you would likely disqualify your beneficiary from continuing to receive those benefits.  A Special Needs Trust can be utilized on its own or embedded within your estate plan to supplement the needs-based public benefit that beneficiary may receive without jeopardizing current or future benefits.  This type of language is provided in each and every revocable trust created as part of the templates.
